ABOUT VICAT
-
Vicat Hovhannisyan is a multidisciplinary artist with a comprehensive 17-year background in art, beginning at age four and spanning academic and professional training. She studied for a decade at the National Center of Aesthetics, followed by three years of private mentorship with artist Tigran Asatryan, and later attended Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts.
Her practice involves drawing (both traditional and digital), painting, printmaking, and digital sculpting, blending traditional skills with innovative digital techniques.
-
Alongside her career as a full-time artist, Vicat has also developed a broad teaching background. She began offering private lessons in 2015, led a workshop at AYB School, and spent four years as a Drawing Workshop Leader and Educational Content Creator at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, working with hundreds of students across Armenia.
Today, Vicat continues to teach private classes in both traditional and digital art.
-
Vicat’s teaching approach combines the methods passed down from her teachers with insights from her own experiences in both art and teaching. She believes in a traditional foundation: by focusing first on strong, fundamental principles, students build the skills they need to eventually create freely and with confidence. Lessons are a mix of theory and practice, with hands-on exercises that make each concept practical and clear. This balance allows students to learn core techniques while also exploring their style and creative expression.
